GRAND ISLAND — 40 high school students had the opportunity to train like a trooper this week at the Nebraska State Patrol Training Academy.

The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating an incident in which a person died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound near Ashland on Saturday, June 28.
