Owners of the PlayStation 5 can now use Apple Pay to buy games and in-app content for the first time. The purchases can be made via the PlayStation Store. The new support adds Apple Pay as an option to the PS5 checkout process, with users required to scan a code using their iPhone or iPad.
Over the past decade, digital game delivery has grown significantly, and more players are choosing digital games over physical copies, especially on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
As first reported by 9to5Mac, PS5 users now have a direct way to buy games in the PlayStation store with Apple Pay. When you purchase a game on your PS5 with Apple Pay, you'll be shown a QR code that you can scan with your iPhone or iPad to complete the transaction from there.
