高松市中心街にあるカフェバー「半空（なかぞら）」で文学賞を立ち上げて今年で10年になる。各回ごとにテーマを設け、誰でも気軽に応募できるように一貫してA4用紙1枚に収まる原稿を募集してきた。「半空文学賞」は作家のためではなく、趣味で書く人や書く習慣がない人のためのアマチュア文学賞だ。中学生のころから私の娯楽は読書で、好きが高じてカウンター席の後ろに蔵書がずらりと並ぶ当店を開いたのが2002年だ。
