LOS ANGELES – A shooting occurred in Santa Monica on June 25, blocks away from the city's famed pier, according to the Santa Monica Police Department. The department said that in a post on X that the shooting occurred near Santa Monica Place, the capstone mall of the Third Street Promenade shopping district.

Officials said an officer sustained injuries during the incident and was transported to a hospital. Their injuries and condition are unknown. A suspect remains at large as officers search the area, the department said in a statement.

Two juveniles were wounded after a Waymo was shot at multiple times in Santa Monica Sunday night. The Santa Monica Police Department said they received a call around 11:30 p.m. about a shooting near Second Street and Broadway.
