At least 9 million people in the nation's upper Midwest region are under red flag warnings on Monday, including residents of Minnesota, where a wildfire was already burning out of control in the largest national forest east of the Mississippi River.

Monday is seeing Red Flag Warnings and Air Quality alerts as the environment is creating dangerous conditions.

On Monday morning, the National Weather Service issued a Red Flag Warning that covers 80 of Minnesota’s 87 counties. The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says the 911 call center took the report of a rapidly spreading grass fire in the 2200 block of Hwy. 44 in Ault Township, which is about 24 miles north of Two Harbors.
