(Reuters) -Seven-times CONCACAF Gold Cup champions the United States will not take Wednesday's semi-final against Guatemala lightly despite being overwhelming favourites, midfielder Tyler Adams said.

The United States are set to face Guatemala in the semi-final of the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2025 at Energizer Park in Missouri on Wednesday, 2 July 2025. The hosts are playing in their 18th semi-final in the last 19 Gold Cups, and both sides secured their place in the last-four after dramatic shootout wins.

The U.S. men's national team is one win away from making the Concacaf Gold Cup final. Mauricio Pochettino's side avoided heartbreak dispatching Costa Rica in a quarterfinal penalty shootout, but at the same time built belief that a trophy this summer is possible.
