President Trump arrived here to begin a four-day Middle East visit that put the cold calculus of “America First” on full display: Invest great sums of cash into the U.S. economy and get a more engaged Washington in return.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi de facto ruler, warmly greeted Trump as he stepped off Air Force One at King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital and kicked off his Middle East tour.

American tech and finance CEOs, including Elon Musk, are also expected to be in Saudi Arabia for a government-hosted conference Trump is scheduled to attend as part of his visit.
